Andy is leaving for college, and his toys are afraid of being thrown away. Mistakenly donated to a cheerful-looking daycare run by a strawberry-scented bear, they discover it isn't what it seems, and must find their way back before Andy leaves home for good.
The default: films the whole family can watch together; any scary or intense moments for the littlest viewers are flagged in the Context Notes.
Why it’s here
A moving story about growing up and letting go. The toys hold together through a dark ordeal, and Andy hands his beloved toys to a child who will love them.
Context notes
For parents, before you press play.
Lotso's prison-like daycare, the creepy Big Baby, and the incinerator scene where the toys join hands facing what looks like the end are very intense for little ones, so it's worth previewing. Lotso's bitterness is shown as a choice that leads to his end.
