Why it’s here

A Disney musical about a boisterous, loving father who must let his daughter go.

Context notes

For parents, before you press play.

In a tavern song, two leading characters chug beer until a bar fight breaks out and one lands in jail, all played for comedy. Nothing else of note.

Discussion questions

When the credits end, go around the room. Each person gives the film a score out of ten and says why.

  1. Why was it hard for Mr. Biddle to let Cordy go?
  2. What did Cordy and Angie argue about?
  3. What did John Lawless think of the family?
  4. Which song was your favorite?

Content advisory

Common Sense Media 7+: a tavern musical number ending in a tame bar fight; heavy beer drinking and an arrest.
