Why it’s here

A fox and a hound are friends as pups until the world sets them against each other. A bittersweet story about loyalty, mercy, and the cost of growing up.

Context notes

For parents, before you press play.

Tod's mother is shot (off-screen), and the bear attack is terrifying for little ones. Amos hunts with traps, and Widow Tweed releasing Tod into the wild is sad.

  1. Why couldn't Tod and Copper stay friends?
  2. What did Copper do at the end, and why?
  3. Why did Widow Tweed let Tod go?
  4. Was Amos Slade a villain?
