1949
Two French nuns arrive in Bethlehem, Connecticut, determined to build a children's hospital on a hill they don't own and can't pay for. Armed with prayer and cheerful audacity, they win over a painter, a songwriter, and a racketeer.
The default: films the whole family can watch together; any scary or intense moments for the littlest viewers are flagged in the Context Notes.
Why it’s here
Faith that moves mountains, and stubborn neighbors, with humor and grace. The sisters' confidence in God's provision is delightful.
Context notes
For parents, before you press play.
The sisters cheerfully badger and outmaneuver people (including a racketeer) to get their hospital, which is played for comedy. Mild period drinking and smoking.
