A new generation of high-tech racers is pushing Lightning McQueen toward retirement, and a terrible crash leaves him wondering whether he can ever come back. Working with an eager young trainer, Cruz Ramirez, he searches for his old mentor's secrets and finds a different kind of victory.
The default: films the whole family can watch together; any scary or intense moments for the littlest viewers are flagged in the Context Notes.
Why it’s here
McQueen faces the end of his career and, like Doc before him, finds joy in passing on what he knows. It honors aging, mentorship, and putting someone else forward.
Context notes
For parents, before you press play.
A violent crash seriously injures McQueen, which may upset little ones, and there's a demolition derby; nothing else of note.
