A fawn is born in the forest and grows through the seasons: learning to walk and talk with his friends Thumper and Flower, his first snow, the dangers of Man, and the long journey to becoming the Great Prince of the Forest like his father.
The default: films the whole family can watch together; any scary or intense moments for the littlest viewers are flagged in the Context Notes.
Why it’s here
A fawn grows up through the seasons of the forest, cared for by a gentle mother and watched over by his father. Painted beauty and the wonder of creation.
Context notes
For parents, before you press play.
Bambi's mother is killed by hunters (off-screen), which is very sad for little ones. A forest fire, a stag fight, and springtime "twitterpated" courtship.
