A Night to Remember1958A Night to Remember
1958
The sinking of the Titanic on the night of April 14, 1912, is told hour by hour from the bridge, the decks, the lifeboats, and the nearby ships Carpathia and Californian.
For older children: stronger profanity, sexual content, or heavy themes that Common Sense Media rates 10–12, best watched with a parent.
Why it’s here
The most truthful Titanic film. Officers and passengers give up their places, the band plays on, and the pride of an "unsinkable" ship is laid bare.
Context notes
For parents, before you press play.
Passengers panic, fight for places in the lifeboats, and drown as the ship goes down, and one man jumps to his death; it's sustained peril and death, treated with dignity. A crew member drinks a whole bottle of scotch and others turn to drink as the ship sinks.
